“Becoming Me” by Exquisite Carma

Becoming Me

by Exquisite Carma

through the storm and into the light

I used to cry in silence,

Fighting storms behind closed doors.

Smiling in the chaos,

While drowning in the chores.

They saw the surface

The strength, the sass, the grace

But only God and I knew

What it took to take my place.

I’ve been tired,

Heavy in the chest,

Shaking hands, racing mind

Still, I rise and get dressed.

This journey hasn’t been perfect,

But it’s been mine to walk.

From toxic spaces to sacred places,

Now I listen when God talks.

My voice ain’t shaking no more.

My boundaries are blessed.

I’m a poem in motion,

A warrior at rest.

I’ve turned pain into purpose,

Stress into surrender.

And every day I breathe,

I remember I’m the contender.

No pill, no shot, no lie from the past

Can steal this light I fought for

This peace that will last.

This is my transforming.

My soft becoming.

My loud healing.

My silent strength.

And baby I’m just getting started.
